According to the latest data released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology , during the 13th Five-Year Plan period , China’s industrial added value increased from 23.5 trillion yuan to 31.3 trillion yuan . During this period , China’s manufacturing industry accounted for nearly 30% of the world’s manufacturing industry . In fact , China has been the world’s largest manufacturing country for 11 consecutive years since 2010 .
However , what attracts more attention is that the average growth rate of value-added of China’s high-tech manufacturing industry was 10.4% , 4.9 percentage points higher than the average growth rate of industrial value-added above designated size , and its share in the added value of large-scale industrial increased from 11.8% in the early period of the 13th Five-Year Plan to 15.1% . The added value of information transmission , software and information technology services increased significantly from about 1.8 trillion yuan to 3.8 trillion yuan . These solid data fully show that China is not only the world’s largest manufacturing country , but also on the journey to become a manufacturing power .
It is only the largest manufacturing country in the world and is on its way to becoming a manufacturing powerhouse .
During the 13th Five-Year Plan period , the industrial structure of China’s manufacturing industry has been optimized and upgraded , and its innovation capacity has been significantly enhanced . First , the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries accelerated , and a green manufacturing system took shape . Second , the development of strategic emerging industries accelerated and breakthroughs were made in frontier areas . By 2020 , high-tech and equipment manufacturing will become an important force driving the optimization and up grading of industrial structure . Third , industrial innovation capacity was significantly enhanced , and major breakthroughs were made in a number of key technologies and products .
But at the same time , it should be clearly seen that there is still a certain gap before China can become a real manufacturing power . According to previous industry studied , China needs to achieve four indicators to become a manufacturing powerhouse : large scale , good quality and efficiency , excellent structure and sustainability . At the present stage , the quality of industrial products still needs to be further improved , and there is still a big gap between labor productivity and developed countries . At the same time , the rationality of economic structure and industrial structure needs to be further strengthened . Finally , there is room for progress in the sustainable development of industry itself and the environment . In particular , against the backdrop of the epidemic , the global economic situation is still uncertain , and the global industrial chain and supply chain are at risk of being cut off . This has exposed the weakness and weakness of China’s industrial chain and supply chain , and the difficulties and pressures faced by some enterprises , which have brought uncertainty to the industrial economy.
In order to realize the transformation of China’s economy from high-speed development to high-quality development , the healthy and sustainable development of the manufacturing industry is the core . In the long run , first of all , the development of the manufacturing industry depends on technological progress and innovation . We should thoroughly implement the innovation-driven development strategy , strengthen innovation breakthroughs in basic and key areas , and strengthen strategic support for manufacturing power . Second , we will vigorously improve the overall labor productivity and value-added rate to lay a foundation for improving the quality and efficiency of the manufacturing industry . Thirdly , vigorously promote the optimization and upgrading of the industrial structure , promote the overall improvement of the quality of the industry , and overcome only some bottlenecks in the optimization and upgrading of the industrial structure . Finally , the stability and competitiveness of the industrial chain should be improved . While strengthening international exchanges and cooperation , the stability and competitiveness of the industrial chain and supply chain should be improved by strengthening and reinforcing the chain , so as to avoid the dependence of key links of important industries on others .
All in all , China will continue to pursue institutional opening-up on the basis of its own structural reform . During the 14th Five-Year Plan period , China will fully open up the general manufacturing industry , orderly lift restrictions on foreign investment access in the telecommunications sector ,and attract more foreign high-end manufacturing projects . The high-quality development of the manufacturing industry will provide an inexhaustible driving force for China’s economic development .
